The Present Day Wise Woman Magazine

Conversations that gather wisdom, not noise

The Present Day Wise Woman Magazine is a quarterly collection of conversations, reflections and perspectives from women who have lived, questioned, built, challenged and kept listening to life.

It exists for one simple reason.

Wisdom grows with experience.
But culturally, we rarely stop long enough to listen to the women who have lived it.

This magazine changes that.

Each edition gathers voices of women who speak with clarity, honesty and perspective about life, leadership, truth, health, culture and what it means to grow older in a world that still struggles to value the wisdom of age.

This is not a lifestyle magazine.

It is a place to pause, reflect and listen to women who have spent decades learning what truly matters.

Why this magazine exists

For more than thirty years I’ve worked alongside women rebuilding their health, confidence and sense of direction.

Over time I began noticing something strange.

Women would reach midlife with extraordinary experience behind them.

Careers, families, loss, leadership and hard-earned wisdom.

And yet culturally, many were expected to quietly step back.

Less visible.
Less influential.
Less relevant.

I never believed that story.

Present Day Wise Woman Magazine Vol 3 Winter Solstice Edition

The Present Day Wise Woman Magazine grew from a simple idea.

What if we created a place where women’s lived wisdom was not edited down or softened?

Where conversations could be thoughtful, honest and unhurried.

Where experience was valued, not sidelined.

As I wrote in the editor’s note:

I didn’t wake up one day and decide to become The Present Day Wise Woman.

This work grew slowly, born from watching too many brilliant women reach midlife and quietly disappear.

This magazine is part of changing that.

What you’ll find inside

Each issue of the magazine gathers a small number of carefully chosen conversations from the Present Day Wise Woman podcast.

But these aren’t transcripts.

They are expanded reflections on the ideas, stories and perspectives that stayed with us long after the microphones were turned off.

Inside each edition you’ll find:

  • Conversations with women shaping culture, community and leadership
  • Reflections on ageing, visibility and influence
  • Stories of courage, resilience and reinvention
  • Ideas that challenge cultural assumptions about women and power
  • Perspectives grounded in lived experience rather than theory

These are conversations designed to be read slowly.

To be returned to.

To spark new questions.

The kinds of voices you’ll encounter

Across the magazine you’ll meet women from many walks of life.

Leaders. Educators. Activists. Entrepreneurs. Scientists. Creators. Mentors.

What connects them is not a title.
It’s perspective.

Some speak about leadership and public life.
Others explore health, identity, language, or cultural change.

Some stories are challenging.
Others are quietly hopeful.

All of them are grounded in the kind of wisdom that only time and experience create.

PDWW Magazine 2

A magazine shaped by the seasons

The Present Day Wise Woman Magazine is released four times each year, aligned with the natural turning points of the seasons.

Spring Equinox
Summer Solstice
Autumn Equinox
Winter Solstice

Each edition is designed as a pause point in the year.

A moment to step back from the noise of everyday life and gather insight from women who have spent years learning what truly matters.

Not constant content.

Seasonal reflection.

Why these conversations matter

We live in a culture that moves quickly.

But wisdom grows slowly.

It grows through experience.
Through reflection.
Through the willingness to keep asking deeper questions.

This magazine exists to hold space for that slower rhythm.

As I wrote in the editor’s introduction:

These women don’t shrink.

They don’t rush to fix.

They speak honestly about power, responsibility, courage and the choices that shape us.

And when we listen closely enough, something interesting happens.

Their stories begin to illuminate our own.

A moment to pause

Before you continue, take a breath and consider this:

When was the last time you sat with the wisdom of a woman older than you?

Not advice.
Not instruction.

Just the quiet perspective of someone who has lived long enough to see patterns clearly.

Many of us grew up surrounded by women like that.
Grandmothers.
Aunts.
Neighbours.
Teachers.

Women who held stories, memory and perspective.

In many places, those voices have grown quieter.

The Present Day Wise Woman Magazine is one small way of bringing them back into the conversation.

So as you read, ask yourself:

What stories shaped the woman I’ve become?
Which women helped me see the world differently?
And what wisdom might I now be ready to share?

Sometimes the most important conversations begin with a simple moment of listening.

If this made you think of a wise woman in your life, send this page to her.

Continue the conversation

If these ideas resonate with you, there are several ways to stay connected with this work.

You can:

Because this magazine is not the destination.

It’s part of a much larger conversation about what becomes possible when women stop shrinking their experience and start speaking from it.

A final word

If something in these pages feels like a mirror, stay with it.

These conversations are not simply stories.

They are invitations.

To think differently.
To speak honestly.
To live the years ahead with clarity.

And to remember that wisdom does not disappear with age.

It deepens.
