SHOW NOTES
Quick question: If I asked you to rate your confidence out of 10 right now, what number would you give yourself? Hold that number in your head. By the end of this episode, it will be higher, because I am about to share three Bare Arse Minimum confidence hacks that can shift you instantly.
Why? Because we have been lied to.
Confidence is not a personality trait. It is not reserved for the loudest person in the room. In fact, those who appear the loudest are often the ones trying to cover up their lack of it.
I used to believe confidence was something other people were just born with. The truth? I learned the hard way that it is not. And once I cracked the code, everything changed.
Today, I am handing you my three BAM ways to build confidence, starting right now.
1. Stand Tall, Shoulders Back
The first BAM way is simple: stand tall, shoulders back, chest open. Your body and brain are in constant conversation. The way you hold yourself sends powerful signals to your nervous system.
Think about the last time you felt unsure. You probably hunched your shoulders or made yourself smaller, and your brain doubled down on that feeling. The moment you stand tall, your body says, “I am safe, I am strong, I have got this.”
Harvard research even shows that power posing for just two minutes can lower cortisol and boost testosterone, hormones that shift you into confidence mode.
Try it now, wherever you are. Stand tall. Shoulders back. Notice how you feel. That is your body giving your brain a pep talk.

2. Celebrate Micro-Wins
The second BAM way is to celebrate micro-wins. We are often told to focus on the big milestones—lose 10 kilos, land the dream job, run the marathon. But confidence is not built at the finish line, it is built in the small steps along the way.
Every time you acknowledge a small win, you stack proof that you can trust yourself.
Examples:
-
Speaking up in a meeting when you would normally stay quiet.
-
Choosing to walk around the block instead of skipping movement altogether.
-
Keeping a promise to yourself, like going to bed on time.
These micro-wins tell your brain, “See? I do follow through. I can rely on me.” That is where confidence grows.
A simple tool is to keep a “win list.” Write down one win each day in a notebook or phone note. By the end of a month, you will have 30 reasons to believe in yourself.
3. Speak Kindly to Yourself
The third BAM way is to speak kindly to yourself. Your inner voice is the most constant companion you will ever have. If it is a critic, you will shrink. If it is a coach, you will rise.
Most of us would never speak to a friend the way we speak to ourselves. And yet, we expect to feel confident while beating ourselves up. That does not work.
One kind word at a time rewires your confidence. Neuroplasticity is real—your brain literally changes when you practice self-compassion.
Catch one negative thought a day and swap it for something neutral or kind. Even better, add the word YET. It is my favourite confidence hack.
“I cannot do this… yet.”
“I do not feel ready… yet.”
“I do not know how… yet.”
That tiny three-letter word shifts your brain from fixed to possibility.
Confidence is not magical
Confidence is not magical, and it is not reserved for a lucky few. It is a skill. And skills are built with practice.
Remember the three BAM ways:
1. Stand tall.
2. Celebrate small.
3. Speak kind.
That is it. Bare Arse Minimum steps to start building your confidence today.
