SHOW NOTES

Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought, “Where the hell did I go?”
You’re not imagining it — and you’re definitely not alone.

Burnout doesn’t just deplete your energy. It slowly chips away at your confidence, dulls your voice, and dims your spark.

You used to feel sure of yourself. You made decisions without overthinking. You spoke up in meetings, in friendships, in life.
Now? You second-guess everything. You stay quiet. You feel invisible in rooms you used to own.

But here’s the truth:
You haven’t lost your confidence. You’ve just forgotten where you put it.

Confidence Isn’t a Mood — It’s a Memory

Confidence isn’t about bold opinions or being the loudest voice in the room.
It’s about remembering who the hell you are, even if that version of you has been buried under years of caregiving, stress, curveballs, and hormonal chaos.

You don’t need to become someone new.
You need to return to your real self.

And it starts by understanding what actually dims your inner light.

What Dims Your Confidence Flame?

  • Chronic stress puts your body in survival mode — and survival mode is the least creative, expressive, or confident state to be in.

  • Constant caregiving (for kids, partners, ageing parents) is powerful, but often leaves you last on the list.

  • Midlife hormones like estrogen, progesterone, and cortisol can impact your mood, memory, motivation, and sense of self-worth.

Add in the pressure to do it all, be it all, and hold it all together — and your brilliant self starts to feel like she’s disappeared.

But she hasn’t.

She’s not broken.
She’s just been quiet.

Your Confidence Is Not Broken — It’s Buried

It’s buried under burnout.
Under “shoulds.”
Under pretending things are fine when they’re not.

And digging her out doesn’t have to be dramatic. It starts with Bare Arse Minimums — small steps that rebuild your identity on your own terms.

The BAM Way to Reclaim Confidence

Do One Thing for You — Without Guilt

Take a walk.
Say no to something.
Make your smoothie before anyone else’s breakfast.
Light a candle before answering emails.

Every time you honour your needs, you send a powerful message to your nervous system: “I matter too.”

Name Your Wins — Daily

They don’t have to be big.

  • “I didn’t snap at the kids.”

  • “I went to bed before midnight.”

  • “I moved my body for ten minutes.”

These are wins.
This is how you retrain your brain to see yourself showing up — even when it’s hard.

Speak Your Truth — Even Shakily

Say what’s real. Even if your voice shakes.

Put your hand on your heart. Speak from your body, not just your head.

  • Tell your partner you need help.

  • Tell your friend you’re struggling.

  • Ask for what you need at work.

When you speak your truth, you become powerful — not because you’re perfect, but because you’re real.

You’re Still Brilliant. You’re Just Burned Out.

This isn’t the end of your confidence.
It’s the beginning of your healing.

You don’t have to wait until it’s all figured out. Confidence is rebuilt in the messy middle — in baby steps — in moments when you choose yourself, even for just 15 minutes.

Fifteen minutes is 1% of your day.
You deserve to spend at least 1% of your day on you.

Take a deep breath. Shake off the guilt.

She’s still in there.
She’s wise.
She’s fierce.
She’s ready.

Confidence doesn’t mean never wobbling.
It means trusting yourself to wobble — and keep going.
