SHOWNOTES
Were you aware that margarine is separated from plastic by just a single step?
The explanation is beyond a simple affirmative or negative response.
From a chemical perspective, indeed, margarine is nearly akin to plastic in terms of sharing almost all the same molecular components, barring just one.
However, this analogy doesn’t hold true in the realm of organic compounds.
In essence, margarine, like all things, originates from molecules.
Given that everything is comprised of molecules, there might be similarities in the molecular makeup of certain substances.
Nevertheless, this doesn’t imply that the final outcomes are identical.
Or does it?
Regardless, it remains notably distinct from nature.
Butter is a dairy creation achieved by agitating milk or cream.
In contrast, margarine is a non-dairy product fashioned from vegetable oils and water.
Oil and water, known to resist mixing, necessitate the addition of emulsifiers.
I SEE NO PROS IN MARGARINE
Margarine is much lower in saturated fat than butter, and it is made from vegetable oils.
Cons: Although it is lower in saturated fat, margarine still contains about the same amount of total fat and calories as butter.
The harder the margarine, the more trans fat it contains.
Podcast 42, I talk all into how I make my healthy butter.
You get to choose where you draw the line in the sand!
