To better understand a different perspective, don’t just listen—seek to understand. Pose questions that ask people to explain themselves further.
Acknowledge When You Are Wrong: Admitting that you are wrong when needed, and working to learn from it, is key to cultivating an open mind.
There is a huge difference between knowing something and doing or living it.
How do we know if we are doing? Your success in that area will show it. Your bank account, your health results, your fitness, your relationships.
4 ways you can reprogram your mindset and phrases
1. Replace “I know that” with “I understand,” “I’m aware,” or similar phrases.
2. Adopt active listening strategies. Ask a lot of well-thought-out questions after someone shares an opinion or idea.
