Supporting the thyroid and adrenals

  • Get enough sleep. Episode 1
  • Avoid stimulants. 
  • Manage stress

Rich Iodine Foods

Agar Agar 

  • Clear flavourless, use it as a powder one teaspoon in a cuppa. Don’t drink too slowly as it sets like gelatine. 
  • Agar lowers the GI of a meal, so useful for those with blood sugar issues.
  • Helps to dissolve cholesterol by calming the liver and absorbing bile. 

Nori sheets – the ones used in sushi

A 10 gram serving of dried nori seaweed (the type of seaweed used in sushi) contains up to 232 mcg of iodine, more than 1.5 times the daily required minimum.

Wakame Seaweed salad 

  • Lower cholesterol levels, decreased blood pressure, enhanced weight loss and reduced blood sugar.
  • Wakame contains approximately 42 mcg of iodine per gram, which is about 28% of the RDI.

Adaptogens – support your body’s ability to cope with stress.
