SHOWNOTES

20 years ago, I walked away from my safe and predictable income. I sold my retail shops and walked away to pursue a career as a professional speaker.

I was so scared when I handed the keys over. It was such a visceral reaction in my body that screamed “what are you doing!” But I took a deep breath and felt so excited, and I remember saying to myself “you are a blank canvas”.

20 years on again and the pandemic hit. I couldn’t travel the world to speak, and I was given the same opportunity with a blank canvas.

What is a blank canvas?

A blank canvas is a situation in which nothing has yet been planned or decided, so that someone is free to decide what should happen or be done

So, I want you to think for a moment. What area of life do you want to start new? Is it your physical, mental, or emotional health? Or is it your career or finances? Is it your spiritual and personal growth? Is it your relationships?

What has stopped you from doing it before? Chances are it’s because of fear. But your breath is the key. Being scared and excited is all in your breath

  • Hold Breath = locked in fear = immobilised
  • Breathe deep = flow = action

5 steps to painting your blank canvas

  1. Take one step today – Brain dump what you want so you can visually see it. Sit there breathe deep and allow whatever is in your brain to flow out
  2. Commit publicly – Tell others what you are wanting to do and committing to.
  3. Know why you want to do it – Don’t wait to get it all right, allow the why to drive you.
  4. Forgive yourself – For whatever has happened in the past. You can’t move forward if you’re stuck in the past.
  5. Reward the little steps – Celebrate the small wins to keep your motivation up.

What are you living into in 2022?

Two means ease. Two is the smallest even number, usually with the meaning of ‘double’, ‘twinned’ and ‘again’. It is an auspicious number in Chinese culture, because Chinese people believe that ‘good things come in pairs’. It also means cooperation or balance, as in the yin and yang.

So right now. Sit up.

Breathe in through your nose.

Close your eyes and see that blank canvas ahead this year.

What can you paint on yours?

The very first thoughts are where to start.

Don’t question them they are your desires and something you can live into.

If you have trouble seeing something, breathe slow and deep through your nose and “feel” your body with your mind.

Feel the ground under your feet, feel the breeze.

Look ahead in your mind it will come when you get into your body instead of your head.

Our intuition is trying to guide us constantly. We just let our mind and fears run the game and cause frustrations.

Stop.

Breathe.

Create.
