You get up you feed. You go to work you feed. You come home you feed. You go to sleep. Then wake up and do it all over again. Sound familiar?

The definition of Groundhog Day is when you are in a situation in which a series of unwelcome or tedious events appear to be recurring in exactly the same way.

Some people thought when the clock ticked over in 2021 that everything would magically reset. But, as we know, we’re still in this pandemic stage, and the same shit keeps happening. As a result, many people feel like they are just existing and not really living.

The other day, I put up a grid image of 50 essential oils on my social media page, and I asked people to share the first three oils that popped out at you. Hundreds of people answered, and more than 80% of people responded with Lemongrass as the first one they saw.

Now, you might say, well so what Jen it’s just Lemongrass? But it’s not. It is incredibly interesting that Lemongrass is an essential oil that I use when people feel like they are existing and not really living.

I think it’s really interesting that twenty years ago I wrote in my Aromatherapy Insight Cards and Guidebook that Lemongrass expands your mind and environment to a place where there are no restrictions, self-imposed or otherwise. It also helps you use curiosity to allow movement into other realms, experiencing new adventures that renew passion and excitement in your life.

As a naturopath, I know that there is always an emotional influence on health. I just need to find that emotional trigger to help people find those imbalances. 

I coach people the world over with their health. Lately, I’ve found that for most, their language is limiting, they’re feeling restricted and that they’ve lost their spark. If you’re feeling like this and existing not living, use some Lemongrass to flip it around.

Remember, what we think about we bring about. If you want your vibe to be excited, you need to start living from that point by propping yourself up with the essential oils to help you. Ask yourself, what are you going to live into in 2021?

Lemongrass is cheap and easy to find. Use it in a diffuser, in a spritz (my recipe is below), or you can use Lemongrass in your food.

Lemongrass Room Spritz Recipe

This is the recipe I use for a Lemongrass spritz in summer; it’s really refreshing:

  • 10ml Lemongrass essential oil
  • 10ml Vodka or Isopropyl alcohol
  • 80ml Filtered water
  • Shake before using
