Imagine it’s your first date. You’ve met this amazing person, and you’re sitting down to dinner at your favourite restaurant. The waiter comes over to ask if you want something to drink, and everything is getting organised as you lovingly gaze into each other’s eyes. It’s wonderful and romantic.

Then all of a sudden, the person across from you leans forward and screams “WILL YOU MARRY ME! WILL YOU MARRY ME! WILL YOU MARRY ME!” What do you do? Besides going into shock, you lean back. You lean back emotionally and energetically.

This is what happens in life, when someone tries to push – they push away. Now that is an extreme example, but it’s the easiest way I can explain what happens when we push for something.

I meet people all the time who are pushing for their goals. They are all fired up, and you can tell from their energy that they are pushing hard for what they want. 

But guess what guys? In the same way you’d lean back if someone is in your face shouting, “WILL YOU MARRY ME!” the energy of someone pushing hard will make you lean back – they push you and what they want away.

Energy is palpable. We can all feel it. We know when someone walks in the room or comes near us, we can tell in our gut if there is an energy that isn’t quite right. 

Conversely, when you’re in your genius, or your flow and everything is lining up, and people go “wow, you’re so lucky, everything you touch is gold.” No, it’s just that your energy is attracting, it’s not repelling.

How do you make sure your energy is attracting?

Your energy attracts when you are certain. When you’re grounded and in a position of “I got this” it allows it to happen. When we’re in a zone of push, push, push towards our goals, we push them further away.

Think about a goal, something you’ve been really striving for but keep butting your head. There is obstacle after obstacle after obstacle. It’s just not flowing. Stop, take a breath and reset. Come back to that place of calm certainty. 

It doesn’t matter what you want to achieve in your life – business, relationship or health – it’s being in that place of knowing, that place of certainty that allows things to come to you. You don’t need to know all of the steps; you just need to know you can achieve it, that it’s a done deal. Then it will flow to you.

It’s a big difference. You want the energy to flow to you, not pushing against it all of the time. The next time your butting your head and not achieving a goal, stop, breathe, centre and start again. That certainty that your goal is achievable is what will change your energy.

Healthy Life Hacks

So, the healthy life hack I want to leave you with today is: Don’t push! Take action towards your goals with grounded certainty DON’T push to achieve them
