What is holding you back from everything you want to be and do? Chances are the same thing that holds all of us back – fear. In this episode, Jen explains that fear has the same physical response in our body as excitement; the only difference is the way we think about it and breathe through it.

SHOWNOTES
What is holding you back from doing what you’ve always dreamt of and becoming everything, you’ve always wanted to become? Fear.
Helen Keller famously said, ‘Life is a daring adventure or nothing at all’.
Fear of the unknown is a natural reaction, but if you choose to live your life guided by fear, you’ll rob yourself of the chance to live your own daring adventure. Don’t let your fears rob you of adventure.
By learning to understand and work through your fears, you can create the life you’ve always wanted, rather than choosing to settle for whatever happens to have come your way.
Fear or excitement?
Did you know fear and excitement both generate the same physiological response? Your heart starts racing, and your adrenalin starts pumping – the only difference is in your perception of the situation. One is negative, and the other is positive.
In many situations, it is entirely your choice whether you experience fear or excitement. This explains why some people can ride a rollercoaster and love it while others find it terrifying.
It is your breath that decides the response — breathing though nose settles your heart rate and adrenals.
Reframe the way you view the world
Do you view the challenges that you face every day as things you ‘have’ to do or things you ‘get’ to do? One point of view drives fear, and the other drives excitement, which one you choose is entirely up to you.
In an instant, you can choose to change your experience of life, simply by choosing to change your point of view.
I choose to live my life by the rule that ‘if it’s hard to do, that’s all the more reason to do it’ and as a result, people often mistakenly think that I don’t experience fear, which is most definitely not the case. (Go back and listen to episode 27 for more on that).
Even the most fearless person you know is intimately acquainted with fear. The difference is that some people choose to take a deep breath, close their eyes and push through their fear to the excitement on the other side, and some do not.
So, who do you want to be?
Imagine if YOU CHOSE to make your life your own daring adventure.
