It’s time to talk about sex, baby! In life, there are a lot of things that can affect your libido. These include:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Poor body image
  • Low self-esteem
  • Living your future out of the past (check out episode 17 if you missed it)
  • Stress – physical, emotional financial (it puts us in survival mode)
  • Low adrenal energy
  • Low testosterone
  • Too little or too much exercise
  • Antidepressants

When you burn the candle at both ends, your body says give me a break. It says you don’t have time for a baby. I’m turning that thing off. And off your libido goes.

How do you get your libido back?

Here are some things to try:

  • Get more sleep (go back and listen to episode 1)
  • Find ways to reduce stress
  • Exercise
  • Practice mindfulness
  • Try Yoga it increases blood flow
  • Use Adaptogen Herbs (go back and listen to episode 10)

Food

The following foods can help to relax you:

  • Red wine
  • Honey
  • Chocolate
  • Coffee
  • Strawberries
  • Oysters
  • Chilli

Herbs

  • Tribulus is a small leafy plant whose roots and fruit are popular in traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine. One study assessed whether 7.5 milligrams (mg) of Tribulus Terrestris extract was effective for female sexual interest/arousal disorder. After four weeks, those who took the extract reported an improvement in their sexual desire, arousal, and satisfaction.
  • Maca Root Powder can help with antidepressant-induced sexual dysfunction in postmenopausal women.
  • Saffron is often recommended as an aphrodisiac in ayurvedic medicine — and early research backs it up. In one study, women taking antidepressants saw a significant improvement in sexual arousal after taking saffron for four weeks. However, while this study found an improvement in sexual arousal, it did not see an improvement in sexual desire. 
  • Gingko Biloba relaxes blood vessels and increases blood flow. 

Aromatherapy Essential Oils

  • LOVE IT Blend – Rose Absolute, Rosewood and Rose Geranium are blended to soothe and balance the heart chakra and help the wearer feel safe and loved.
  • SEDUCE Blend – Jasmine, Cedarwood, Mandarin, Patchouli and Ylang Ylang are blended to warm your heart with create a romantic feel.

Keep in mind that a glass of water will be an aphrodisiac if you want it to be.
