Are you feeling tired, flat and unmotivated? Want to get back the zest you once had for life and feel energised morning, noon and night? Here are seven energy boosters to help you create a more vibrant, happy life.

1. Get more active

You don’t need to run a marathon, try just a 10-minute walk in the morning, on your lunch break, or even when you get home from work. Then if you can’t get outside because of the weather or kids, find some exercise clips on YouTube and get active in your lounge room with everyone joining in.

2. Cut the toxins out of your life

From the chemical additives and colours in our food and drinking water, to toxic metals, pesticides, chemicals, plastics, environmental toxins and more it is not hard for our bodies to become overrun with toxins.

Not only do they make us feel tired, toxins also us more susceptible to sickness and disease, this is why a regular detox is essential. To minimise the toxins you are exposed to change your diet to include as much raw food as possible and change your personal care products and household cleaners to non-toxic varieties.

3. Take a cold shower

Now I don’t mean an ice-cold shower, to get an energy boost, turn your warm shower down to as cold as you can handle. The cold shower water on your body engages and stimulates your nervous system, flushing out toxins and increasing circulation.

4.  Energise with essential oils

Essential oils can play a big part in giving you energy and vitality in your day – they’re as effective today, as thousands of years ago. Our Energise Blend [link to oil in shop] of essential oil can be used in a vaporiser in your home, office or car to freshen your mind and renew your vigour, while being 100% natural.

5. Take deep breaths

A few long and slow deep breaths can really energise you by increasing the amount of oxygen circulating in your body. Try this:

  • Sit comfortably in a chair or try holding a comfortable position
  • Inhale through your nose and direct the air down to your lower belly and into your chest counting as you go
  • Hold your breath for one more count
  • Exhale slowly trying to count to twice the number you did when inhaling
  • Repeat three to five times

6. Keep your body hydrated

Your body is made up of 70 per cent water and it needs to be constantly replenished. Think of it this way 70 per cent of what you put into your mouth every day should be water. Time to drink up!

Just in case you are wondering this does not count the water in your espressos because caffeine is a big cause of dehydration! It’s plain water, straight up, and try to have one glass about every two hours in your day. If you want to start your day off well, drink a glass of warm lemon water first thing in the morning.  It is a great detox to kick-start your system.

7. Do something you love!

Nothing energises us more than doing something we love to do or a passionate about. Think about it, what excites you and makes you feel alive? What do you love to do that makes you smile? Give yourself something to look forward to each day.

As the saying goes “There is no time like the present” so use one or two of these steps now to start feeling more energised right away.
